Regents Canal

One of the area’s hidden secrets is its network of quiet waterways, well maintained footpaths and picturesque locks. The Regents and Hertford Union canals, and the lower Lea river, are all close by. Great for cycling, nature watching or walking in a clean, green, freshwater setting.

Hoxton Square

Where the revival of the area started all those years ago, the Square is the heart of fashionable Hoxton, and a few hundred yards from Verdigris Gardens. Home of the famous White Cube Gallery, its central green space is a popular meeting place and the site of many an impromptu happening.

Victoria Park

Always loved, jealously guarded and getting big improvements in the run up to the 2012 Olympics, Victoria Park was inner London’s first – and one of its biggest – public green spaces. With its imposing entrance gates and mature trees, the park has an excellent café and a lake, spectacular fountain and bird island. A great, uncrowded place to play, unwind, or have a picnic.
